June Wrap Up

Another June in the books and this one was very special, both on the water and off. I’d like to thank all the clients I had, some new and some repeat. Y’all are what make guiding fun and possible!

Big bass = Big smiles!

Here in Michigan we had multiple, back-to-back 90 degree days (which is unusual this time of year) and we had very little rain up until the end. Some of our rivers were running low and clear and have since rebounded with a couple of nice small storms.

It’s hard to beat a topwater eat!

The topwater game is in full swing with the mornings and evening being the best times to get that big bite. During the day, streamers are still the go to and have been producing nicely (I’ll get into that more in my report).

Eager fish love to chase the streamer!

There is a slight adjustment to my trip offerings. Full day trips will remain the same price, however, they will be 6 hours. There is plenty of fishing to be had, a lunch is provided, and we have a blast soaking up the sun and water! Half day trips can start in the morning or in the evening depending on your preference. I am offering a new route on the Kalamazoo river and am extremely excited about how well it’s been fishing and the consistency we are getting, don’t miss out!

Your first smallmouth bass on the fly always puts a smile on your face.

Off the water, and on a personal note, I have passed the NCLEX RN exam. This means I am a legally licensed registered nurse. I’m primed and pumped to start that part of my career in August. This is a big step for my family and I and we are ready! I will still be running trips, so don’t worry! We have plenty to offer here in my neck of the woods and I am very excited to share it with all of you. I hope you’re ready for July and all the adventures it has to offer, I know I am.

I hope to see you on the water,

Allen
